Directions
to Sunrise Lakes, Clermont, Florida
Our own home is located
on Sunrise Lakes, a new community off US Highway 27 just north of the
intersection with Highway 192
Less than 6 miles from
the entrance to Walt Disney World the home is ideal as a base for the
theme parks, whilst at the same time its location on the edge of Kissimmee
ensures it offers a peaceful retreat close to central Florida's natural
beauty.
From Orlando International Airport
Take the south exit from Orlando International Airport, signed for Kissimmee and Walt Disney World. Follow signs for highway 417, you want to head south on 417, this is a right turn from the road you pick up when leaving the airport. Stay on the 417 until you reach exit 3, signed for The Osceola Parkway and Disney World. The 417 is a toll road so you will need US change, $3 should be more than enough. At the end of the slip way off the 417 turn right and head for the Gaylord Centre, large building in front of you. In front of Gaylord at the traffic lights turn left, signposted celebration. Head down this road until it reaches Highway 192, no more than 2 miles. Turn right onto 192 and stay on it heading West until it ends with an intersection with Highway 27, approximately 9 miles. Soon after you join 192 you will have to navigate the road works where the intersection with I-4 is being rebuilt, stay on the 192 through this heading West, the best bet is to stay in the left hand lane to ensure you are not forced off on a filter lane. At the intersection with Highway 27 head North for Clermont. Follow the directions for finding the house from the 192 / 27 intersection given below.
An alternate route avoiding the toll road, but not as straightforward, from that above is to follow the signs for I-4 from the airport then head for Tampa when you hit the I-4 which will bring you to the 192. Though please note that during our last visit to the house the interchange between I-4 and 192 was closed due to road works, it was therefore necessary to exit I-4 and drive through the edge of Walt Disney World in order to pick up the 192 heading West. The diversion was clearly signed.
From Orlando Sanford Airport
Take the highway (46) from the airport West to Interstate Four (I-4). Take I-4 West until junction with US 192. Take 192 West away from Kissimmee which is East of the I-4 until ends at a junction with US 27. Take US 27 North and follow directions from intersection US 192 and US 27 given below.
Please note that during our last visit to the house the interchange between I-4 and 192 was closed due to road works, it was therefore necessary to exit I-4 and drive through the edge of Walt Disney World in order to pick up the 192 heading West. The diversion was clearly signed.
From Tampa International Airport
From the airport follow signs for Interstate Four (I4). Take I4 East from Tampa towards Orlando. Exit I4 at intersection with US 27. Drive North up US 27 for about 5 miles to the intersection with 192, and follow directions from intersection Highway 192 and Highway 27 given below.
From Miami International Airport
Exit the airport and follow signs for Interstate 95 (I95). Head North on I95, towards Fort Lauderdale, then pick up the Florida Turnpike. Head North on the Turnpike towards Orlando. The Turnpike will take you directly to the outskirts of Kissimmee. Exit the Turnpike and pick up US 192, signposted Kissimmee. Head west on 192 for about 30 minutes, right to the end where it meets US 27. Take US 27 North and follow directions from intersection US 192 and US 27 given below.
You will need US currency for the Turnpike, $15 should cover the entire trip up from Miami. Whilst on the Turnpike there are regular service areas, though beware, entrance to these is always from the left hand lane.
Directions from intersection US 192 and US 27
Head North on Highway 27 towards Clermont, pass two sets of lights and take the next turning on the right, the turning is immediately before a Wendy’s and is marked by a KB Home billboard on the right hand side. Follow this to the end and turn left into Sunrise Lakes.
